The British Virgin Islands Financial Services Commission reported that its 2026 “Meet the Regulator” stakeholder engagement forums have started, with more than 200 participants attending the initial in-person session in Tortola to meet Commission executives. The 17 February event brought together stakeholders from banking, trust, insurance, fiduciary and financing businesses, virtual asset service providers and other local financial sectors. Discussion topics attracting the most attention included beneficial ownership implementation updates, economic substance filings, and planned regulatory and legislative reforms for 2026. Further sessions are planned in Panama, London and Hong Kong, with the Commission listing an in-person “Meet the Regulator: Panama” event for 23 February 2026 and a “BVI FSC Roundtable: London” for 26 February 2026.
