The Central Bank of Montenegro announced it has become a member of the European Automated Clearing House Association (EACHA), which brings together European clearing houses and clearing service providers. Membership places the Central Bank of Montenegro within EACHA’s 29-member community, including central banks from the European System of Central Banks and other European payment infrastructure institutions. The Central Bank of Montenegro expects the affiliation to provide access to European payment system standards, documents and guidelines relevant to projects such as SEPA integration and the rollout of a national instant payment system (TIPS Clone), and to enable participation in EACHA working groups and thematic forums focused on common technical standards and interoperability, particularly for instant payments.
