The Angola Insurance Authority has authorized the liquidation committee of Global Seguros, S.A. to transfer the insurer’s life and non-life insurance portfolio as part of the company’s ongoing liquidation. The portfolio will be transferred to ENSA Seguros de Angola, S.A., NOSSA Seguros, S.A., Fidelidade de Angola - Companhia de Seguros, S.A. and AMUSE - A Mundial Seguros, S.A. The notice states that the four receiving insurers are authorized to carry out insurance business in Angola and have adequate financial guarantees for the transfer. Under Article 153(2) of the Insurance and Reinsurance Activity Law, insured persons and policyholders have 15 days from publication of the notice to terminate their contracts, and during that period the transfer cannot be enforced against them.
