The Central Bank of Oman announced that the International Monetary Fund's 2026 staff mission to the Sultanate of Oman has commenced and will continue through 15 June 2026 as part of the annual Article IV Consultation. The mission is intended to assess economic developments and policy priorities, with a focus on sustainable growth and financial stability. During the visit, the IMF team will meet officials and specialists from the Central Bank of Oman, the Ministry of Finance, other government entities and private-sector representatives. Discussions will cover recent economic, financial and monetary developments, the outlook for growth and financial stability, regional and global developments and their implications for Oman, as well as fiscal and monetary policies, socioeconomic developments and progress in economic and financial reform programs. The mission is scheduled to conclude on 15 June 2026. It will then present preliminary observations to the relevant entities, followed by publication of the mission's concluding press release.
