Ecuador's Superintendence of Banks published an enforcement alert after identifying unauthorised entities carrying out money-taking activities in Ecuador without the legally required authorisation. The alert references Article 254 of the Organic Monetary and Financial Code, which prohibits any natural or legal person outside the national financial system from taking money from the public or performing activities exclusive to the financial sector. The Superintendence listed the following names in connection with the detected activity: PLATA PUNTUAL-PRÉSTAMO LISTO; RICO-CRÉDITOS Y PRÉSTAMOS; DINEROFÁCIL-PRÉSTAMO FÁCIL; CREDITO SMART; PRESTAMOS ECUADOR; CRECE CREDIT; CREDIPAGUITOS; COOPERATIVA PRO CREDIT; CREDIALIANZA S.A.S.; and CRÉDITOFAST-PRÉSTAMO FAST.
