The Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan held a meeting with representatives of JPMorgan Chase Bank on developing the derivatives market and establishing a local hedging institution, concluding with a preliminary agreement to pursue further cooperation. Foreign partners expressed readiness to support the Central Bank’s initiatives, including participation in derivatives market trading, practical training to build market participants’ capacity, expert support to align the regulatory framework with international standards, and assistance in introducing new hedging instruments. The Central Bank was represented by Deputy Chairman Nodirbek Achilov and relevant departments, while JPMorgan’s delegation included its Head of Investment Banking for the CIS, an Institutional Sales vice president in London, and the head of its representative office in Uzbekistan.
