The Financial Services Regulatory Authority (FSRA) of Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM) and Hong Kong’s Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) co-hosted a high-level roundtable in Hong Kong focused on opportunities for Hong Kong asset managers to operate in ADGM. More than 20 senior executives from Hong Kong asset managers attended, with discussions covering access to investors in ADGM and the wider United Arab Emirates, including via the UAE fund passporting regime. The FSRA also held an industry seminar for more than 30 representatives, providing insights into regulatory requirements for cross-border fund distributions. The engagement was positioned as a follow-on to the memorandum of understanding signed by the SFC and ADGM’s FSRA in May, aimed at exploring further regulatory and market connectivity.
