The Brazilian Securities and Exchange Commission published its enforcement activity report for the first quarter of 2026, showing 969 administrative proceedings with potential sanctions under review across eight technical areas. During the quarter, 19 completed proceedings resulted in charges and became sanctioning administrative proceedings, while 20 investigative procedures were opened. The commission issued 37 warning letters and eight stop orders. It also approved six settlement agreements covering nine proceedings and 13 proponents, totaling BRL 5.45 million, although its board adjudicated no cases during the quarter. The authority referred 20 reports of suspected criminal conduct to state and federal prosecutors, including suspected unauthorized activities, fraud involving virtual assets, securities or financial assets, fraudulent management of a financial institution and fraud.
