The Bank of Korea published its June 2026 Consumer Tendency Survey showing a modest improvement in household sentiment. The Composite Consumer Sentiment Index rose 0.5 points from May to 106.6. Views on current living standards and current domestic economic conditions improved, while expectations for future living standards, household income and household spending were unchanged overall. One-year ahead inflation expectations held at 2.8%. Current living standards rose by 1 point to 94 and current domestic economic conditions increased by 3 points to 86. Prospective domestic economic conditions fell by 1 point to 92, while prospective living standards stayed at 97, prospective household income at 100 and prospective household spending at 110. Longer-term inflation expectations were 2.7% over three years and 2.6% over five years. The survey was conducted from June 9 to June 16 across 2,500 households nationwide, with 2,245 responses.

The Bank of Korea said its June 2026 Consumer Tendency Survey showed the Composite Consumer Sentiment Index rising to 106.6 from 106.1 in May. Current living standards and current economic conditions improved, but most forward-looking household indicators were unchanged and expectations for future domestic economic conditions slipped slightly. One-year ahead inflation expectations were unchanged at 2.8%.
