Islamic Development Bank Group Chairman Muhammad Al Jasser held discussions with Bangladeshi officials on shaping the group’s upcoming Member Country Partnership Strategy around the country’s development priorities and financing needs. Proposed areas of cooperation included resilient infrastructure, energy security, transport connectivity, trade finance and private sector development. The discussions covered expanding access to concessional financing through the IsDB Concessional Fund and using blended finance, sukuk and other instruments to support Bangladesh’s development agenda. In a separate meeting with Minister of State for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Anindya Islam Amit, Al Jasser explored IsDB Group financing, trade finance and technical support for domestic energy capacity and cleaner, more reliable energy systems.
