The Brazil Securities Commission (CVM), through its Education Advisory Committee, has launched a free online personal finance course aimed at musicians, composers and other music industry professionals. The pilot programme is hosted on B3’s Educational Hub and is being distributed and promoted with support from the Brazilian Union of Composers (UBC). The course is organised into four modules covering personal financial planning, key investment products in the financial and capital markets, risks linked to sports betting, online casinos and irregular offerings, and behavioural aspects of saving. UBC validated the course structure and materials and will publicise it to its members, while the CVM committee frames the pilot as a model it intends to expand by making similar financial education courses available to other professional associations.
