The Thailand Office of Insurance Commission reported that insurers paid a combined THB 1,303,169 to the heirs of six people killed in a shooting at Debsirin Nonthaburi School. The payments were presented alongside THB 1.8 million in government relief, comprising THB 300,000 for each victim. Viriyah Insurance paid THB 600,000 across the six families, Thanachart Insurance paid THB 100,000 under an accident policy for one victim, and Prudential Life Assurance Thailand paid THB 603,169 under a group credit protection policy for one victim. The commission will coordinate with relevant agencies to support the use of insurance as a mechanism for managing societal risks.
