The British Virgin Islands Ministry of Financial Services, Economic Development and Digital Transformation has opened recruitment for three members of the Financial Services Appeal Board, which handles appeals relating to financial services regulatory decisions. Board members will participate in considering appeals arising from decisions of the British Virgin Islands Financial Services Commission taken under the Financial Services Commission Act or other financial services legislation, as well as appeals from other bodies where mandated by other enactments. The role also includes receiving and considering written complaints relating to the affairs of the Board. Applicants must reside in the British Virgin Islands and must not be members of the Financial Services Commission (including its Board of Commissioners) or be engaged in, or connected with a person engaged in, financial services business in the Virgin Islands; candidates are expected to have a bachelor’s degree (preferably in law or a financial services-related field) and at least five years’ relevant experience. Applications close on 7 May 2025. Stipends are paid to Board members who are not public officers, at rates determined by the House of Assembly.
