The Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI) announced it is hosting the 8th Asia-Pacific Regional High-Level Meeting on Insurance Supervision and the 20th Annual Meeting and Seminar of the Asian Forum of Insurance Regulators (AFIR) in Hyderabad on 9-11 December 2025, bringing together more than 40 senior regulatory officials from 15 jurisdictions. The 9 December high-level meeting is jointly organised by AFIR, the Financial Stability Institute (FSI) of the Bank for International Settlements (BIS), and the International Association of Insurance Supervisors (IAIS), and is set to cover the evolution and future trajectory of supervisory mandates, regulatory developments, protection gaps in climate, health and cyber segments, and the potential role of artificial intelligence in insurance supervision. The 20th AFIR Annual Meeting and Seminar on 10-11 December 2025 will focus on inclusive insurance, innovation in supervision, smarter regulation, and risk modelling tools for climate risk under the theme “Innovating with Trust, Including with Care: Charting the Insurance Path Ahead”.
