The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission’s Division of Economic and Risk Analysis published updated capital markets statistics showing year-over-year growth in initial public offerings and follow-on registered offerings in the first half of 2026. IPO activity reached 208 offerings raising more than USD 137 billion, up from 180 offerings raising more than USD 27 billion in the first half of 2025. This represented a 16% increase in volume and a nearly 400% rise in proceeds. Follow-on activity increased to 557 registered offerings raising more than USD 111 billion, compared with 505 offerings raising nearly USD 84 billion a year earlier. Offering volume rose about 10%, while proceeds increased 33%.
