The Croatian Financial Services Supervisory Agency (Hanfa) reported on the completion of key activities under the Twinning Light project “Strengthening Corporate Governance Provisions and Administrative Capacity of the Capital Market Authority of Montenegro”, held in Podgorica on 15–19 September 2025. A central project output was the development of a modern Corporate Governance Code for Montenegro aligned with European Union and OECD standards, supported by related training. Training on the new Code was held on 16 September, and project results were presented by Hanfa’s Andreja Hašček and the Capital Market Authority of Montenegro’s Ilda Pepić. The closing ceremony brought together Hanfa, the Capital Market Authority of Montenegro and the European Union Delegation to Montenegro, alongside market participants and other institutions, with the EU Delegation linking the project to Montenegro’s alignment with European company law in the EU accession process. The EU Delegation indicated that the EU and Montenegro would work intensively in the coming months to close the relevant accession negotiation chapter.

Supported by training and presented by Hanfa and the Capital Market Authority of Montenegro, the project is linked to Montenegro's EU accession process.
