Indonesia's Financial Services Authority (OJK) hosted a Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) Forum ahead of the Risk and Governance Summit (RGS) 2026, positioning stronger, integrity-based and sustainable GRC functions across the financial services sector as a foundation for safeguarding financial system stability amid increasingly complex global dynamics. The event was framed as a platform to deepen collaboration between the regulator, professional associations and financial industry participants. Discussions led by OJK Audit Board Chair Sophia Wattimena highlighted key risk areas cited by The Institute of Internal Auditors, including cybersecurity, digital disruption including artificial intelligence, business resilience, human resources, climate change and regulatory change. A panel session focused on beneficial ownership (BO/UBO) transparency and its implications for GRC, covering policy developments and strengthening direction, the use of BO/UBO data in risk-based supervision, and the role of financial intelligence in supporting transparency and cross-stakeholder collaboration. The forum also outlined the Road to RGS 2026 activities, including association participation in Spark Class programmes, Continuing Professional Education recognition, association booths, and educational content via podcasts and other communications, and concluded with the signing of a collaboration commitment between OJK and professional associations. RGS 2026 is scheduled for 14 July 2026.
