The Brazilian Superintendence of Private Insurance (SUSEP), represented by Director for Market Organization and Conduct Regulation Jessica Bastos, took part in the Salzburg Global programme meeting “Building Resilient Communities: Insurance Solutions for Individuals and Vulnerable Communities” in Salzburg, Austria, held from 5 to 10 October. The programme convened international leaders across sectors to explore approaches to investment and insurance aimed at strengthening the resilience of households, businesses and communities. Discussions covered how countries, cities and communities are responding to changing risk levels that affect the availability and affordability of property insurance, what product and policy innovations could help low-wealth individuals protect assets, and how marginalized groups can be engaged in product development and pricing. The meeting also examined conditions for effective public sector, industry and community partnerships and identified near-term opportunities for cross-sector and cross-region collaboration, with the programme aiming to exchange best practices, leverage existing innovations and develop action plans that participants can implement at community, municipal or national level.
