The People's Bank of China reported that Governor Pan Gongsheng attended the Bank for International Settlements central bank governors meeting in Basel, Switzerland on 7–8 September 2025, where governors exchanged views on global economic and financial conditions and monetary policy issues. The agenda covered recent international asset price developments, the implications of labour market changes for monetary policy, the impact of US dollar moves on emerging market economies, and central bank monetary policy frameworks. On the sidelines, Pan met the governors of the Bank of Korea, the Bank of Thailand, the managing director of the Monetary Authority of Singapore, and the governor of the Central Bank of Brazil to discuss bilateral financial cooperation and related matters.
