The Portuguese Insurance Regulator (ASF) issued Circular No. 5/2025 releasing the “Prevenção BCFT” reporting file and instructions to support the new periodic supervisory report on anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing controls under Regulatory Standard No. 10/2024-R. The annual submission, filed through the ASF Portal and covering the previous year, applies to pension fund management companies, life insurers operating in Portugal (including Portuguese-headquartered insurers and branches of EU and third-country insurers), and certain life insurance intermediaries that are legal persons and, in the prior calendar year, had more than 15 staff directly involved in distribution for at least six months and mediated life business exceeding EUR 5 million in premiums and contributions. The standard deadline is 15 April each year, while reporting for reference year 2024 must be provided by 30 June 2025; until portal developments are completed for intermediaries, those without portal access are instructed to submit the information via email.
