The National Bank of Ukraine published an update on its special fundraising account for supporting Ukraine’s defence forces, reporting that it allocated more than UAH 1.1 billion in April 2025. The account received over UAH 176.2 million during the month, with a balance of over UAH 1.2 billion as of 1 May 2025. Since the account was opened on 24 February 2022, nearly UAH 66.3 billion (equivalent) has been received, including almost UAH 45.2 billion remitted from abroad in foreign currencies. Cumulative allocations since the start of the full-scale war total more than UAH 65.2 billion, including over UAH 33,247 million for the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and over UAH 16,451 million for the Defence Procurement Agency, alongside transfers to the National Guard, National Police, State Border Guard Service, State Service of Special Communication and Information Protection, and other security and emergency bodies; the update also notes that a Cabinet of Ministers resolution allows transfers to other public authorities involved in repelling the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine on request approved by the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine, and that such a request was honored in April.
