The Central Bank of the Republic of San Marino issued a public clarification in response to local press articles, stating that Dr. Gian Luca Belluzzi never assumed the role of President of the CBSM Board of Auditors because he formally declined the appointment for personal and professional reasons. It added that the position has continued without interruption under Pier Angela Gasperoni and rejected as unfounded any public statements by Dr. Belluzzi alleging instability in San Marino’s banking institutions. CBSM pointed to the banking system’s resilience as being regularly confirmed by international bodies and credit rating agencies, and cited continued strengthening of the system’s technical profiles over the past three years. It referenced supporting information published periodically on its website, including the Quarterly Information Bulletin with data reported as of 31 December 2024.
