The Canadian Securities Administrators (CSA) released its 2024-2025 Year in Review, outlining progress against the six strategic goals in its 2022-2025 Business Plan and summarizing key work on investor protection, enforcement, policy development and market innovation. Highlights include 1,011 investor alerts, cautions and warnings, with more than 75 per cent related to crypto assets, and investor education campaigns (“Check Registration” and “Spot the Red Flags of Fraud”) that reached over 4.5 million Canadians. Enforcement outcomes included 54 permanent market participation bans following proceedings and enforcement actions in 20 crypto-related matters. The CSA also reported 57 publications covering final rule changes, consultations, blanket orders and guidance, and noted that its CSA Collaboratory hosted representatives from 155 organizations at its inaugural webinar on data portability. The Year in Review is available in English and French, and the CSA pointed readers to its 2025-2028 Business Plan launched in June 2025.
