The Central Bank of the Republic of Azerbaijan said it took part in a DOST Agency meeting held under the state monitoring framework for the rights of persons with disabilities, where discussions covered protection of those rights and access to financial services. The release positions non discrimination in the provision of financial services to persons with disabilities as an ongoing supervisory focus for the financial sector regulator. The meeting also reviewed monitoring objectives planned for 2026, forthcoming tasks and related issues. During discussions on current matters, Murad Mammadov, Director of the Consumer Relations Department, outlined initiatives implemented jointly with financial institutions with the Central Bank’s support. The bank added that it regularly holds meetings and awareness initiatives with sector representatives to improve services in this area and prevent discriminatory practices.
