The Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan held a meeting with the Embassy of Switzerland in Uzbekistan and the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs to review progress under their Bilateral Assistance and Capacity Building Program and agree priorities for the coming year. The discussion highlighted progress from expert missions and joint research, alongside ongoing work to strengthen the central bank’s analytical and institutional capacity. Cooperation areas covered monetary policy, macroeconomic statistics, consumer protection, payment systems oversight, and money market development. The central bank also referred to ongoing and planned work with other international partners, including the World Bank and OGResearch, on foreign exchange policy development, liquidity forecasting, and improving the monetary policy transmission mechanism; SECO representatives confirmed readiness to continue supporting the initiatives.
