The Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization (CIRO) has opened a funding program for non-profit and charitable organizations to develop initiatives that promote investor education and investor protection in Canada, with a stated focus on underserved communities. The program will prioritize proposals serving low-income Canadians, racialized communities, youth and seniors, newcomers to Canada, LGBTQ2S+ individuals and persons with disabilities. Funding comes from CIRO’s restricted fund of monetary sanctions and may support educational programs, research projects and other investor protection initiatives aligned with CIRO’s Recognition Orders, with CIRO also encouraging applications from Western and Eastern Canada, including Indigenous and grassroots organizations. Applications must be submitted through CIRO’s Restricted Fund Application Form by March 31, 2025.
