The Albania Financial Services Authority issued an investor alert stating that the NetherexPro investment platform is not licensed, registered or otherwise recognised by the authority, following information circulating on social media. Citing Albania’s capital markets and distributed ledger technology-based financial markets laws, the authority reminded the public that no firm may offer or promote services related to investing in securities or trading digital tokens and/or virtual currencies in Albania without prior licensing, registration or recognition by the authority. It warned that investing through such platforms may result in the irreversible loss of all invested funds and noted that it cannot protect investors’ interests when they use unlicensed or unrecognised entities, directing investors to consult its online register of licensed entities.
