The Jordan Securities Commission confirmed that its 2025 Financial Solvency and Capital Adequacy Standards Instructions will take effect on September 12, 2026, following a 270-day implementation period. The framework updates requirements in place since 1995 and introduces a more risk-sensitive approach that links regulatory capital requirements to each financial services company’s risk exposure. The instructions revise regulatory ratios and thresholds, add specific capital adequacy requirements, and strengthen the calculation of liquidity and net equity. They also consolidate rules previously contained in separate decisions and circulars, including the treatment of receivables and doubtful debt provisions, real estate holdings and subordinated loans, while introducing updated reporting templates and a standardized model for calculating regulatory indicators.
