The Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye (CBRT) has opened a call for the private sector to participate in the Digital Turkish Lira Research and Development Project ecosystem, aiming to add new use-case projects to the ongoing second phase and support joint testing. Under the call, banks, payment institutions and electronic money institutions can submit innovative projects, in collaboration with technology solution providers, within specified categories. Projects that successfully complete the application process will be eligible for joint tests in a sandbox, with the detailed scope and procedures set out in Turkish. The CBRT also noted that it previously published a First Phase Evaluation Report and that a Digital Turkish Lira Second Phase Progress Report will be released in the coming months.
