The National Bank of Serbia informed citizens and businesses that its national payment instruments remain available for non-cash payments at NIS Petrol gas stations, in the context of sanctions against NIS Petrol and the possibility that international card schemes could block card payments at NIS Petrol payment points. Customers can continue to pay using DinaCard payment cards and the instant payment options IPS Scan and IPS Show. IPS Scan and IPS Show are available on the home screens of banks’ mobile banking applications in Serbia. DinaCard can be used at NIS Petrol to pay for fuel and other goods, make instalment payments, withdraw cash with purchases, and pay certain utilities. The central bank said the situation underlines the importance of national payment instruments that function independently of foreign companies and institutions and carry lower costs, and noted that NIS Petrol plans to provide additional payment benefits for users, with further information to be provided in due course.
