South Korea's Ministry of Economy and Finance outlined government support for small and midsize enterprises to adopt artificial intelligence, focusing on AI agents and physical AI. At a seminar co-hosted with the Korea Federation of SMEs, the ministry said support would target computing access, manufacturing applications and adoption by regional businesses. The government plans to provide access to graphics processing units and other computing infrastructure for AI-agent development and the commercialization of technology by promising startups. It will also develop a manufacturing foundation model, standardize manufacturing data and establish a data-sharing platform. Additional measures will support region-specific adoption in cooperation with local governments and expand access for small businesses through process, production-line and business-level AI deployments.
