In an address at the official launch, Bank of Ghana Governor Dr. Johnson Pandit Asiama introduced the Central Securities Depository’s investorConnect platform, which gives investors direct digital access to their securities accounts. Available through the web and mobile applications, the platform allows investors to open accounts with real-time Ghana Card identity verification, view securities held in their names and review transaction histories. The platform forms part of the depository’s system upgrade and digital transformation, aimed at improving access to and transparency of investor records. It does not replace brokers, custodians or investment advisers, which retain their existing roles. Asiama called on the depository to protect the confidentiality and integrity of records, maintain reliable authentication, account recovery and service continuity, establish clear error correction and complaint channels, and support digital access with investor education and protection.
