The National Bank of Moldova has published a draft decision proposing a regulation on digital operational resilience for the financial sector, with entry into force scheduled for January 1, 2029. The proposal would partially implement the European Union’s Digital Operational Resilience Act. It follows the bank’s earlier identification of alignment with European digital resilience rules as a priority for financial sector digitalisation. The draft would also narrow the categories of payment service providers covered by the existing 2025 minimum requirements for information and communication technology risk management, information security and business continuity. Compliance with the proposed regulation would be monitored by the bank’s department responsible for business continuity, information security and IT supervision, working with the departments responsible for supervising financial entities.
