The Central Bank of Kenya has approved the transfer of all assets and liabilities of Access Bank (Kenya) Plc to National Bank of Kenya Limited. The transfer will take effect when the transaction is completed under the parties’ Business and Assets Transfer Agreement. The central bank granted its approval on Aug. 17, 2026, followed by approval from the Cabinet Secretary for the National Treasury and Economic Planning on Sept. 21, 2026. Access Bank PLC acquired National Bank of Kenya from KCB Group Plc in May 2025 and has owned Access Bank Kenya since entering the Kenyan market through an acquisition in 2020.
