The Central Bank of Cyprus published updated aggregate data on non-performing loans (NPLs) for the Cyprus banking sector with a reference date of 30 November 2025, showing a further decline in the sector’s NPL ratio. At end-November 2025, the NPL ratio excluding loans and advances to Central Banks and Credit Institutions fell to 4.0% from 4.2% at end-October. The MEX index, calculated under the European Banking Authority (EBA) Risk Matrix methodology including loans and advances to Central Banks and Credit Institutions, was unchanged at 2.1%. The coverage ratio of non-performing exposures (NPEs) with bad debt provisions decreased to 70.4% from 70.7%, while the stock of total restructured loans stood at EUR 1.1 billion, of which EUR 0.5 billion remained included in NPEs.

The Central Bank of Cyprus reported a decline in the non-performing loans (NPL) ratio to 4.0% as of November 2025, with the MEX index stable at 2.1% and a slight decrease in the coverage ratio of non-performing exposures to 70.4%. Total restructured loans amounted to EUR 1.1 billion, with EUR 0.5 billion still classified as non-performing exposures.
