The National Bank of Moldova published its monthly statistics on the cash foreign exchange market, covering exchange office purchases and sales of foreign currency against Moldovan leu with individuals. Total turnover in October 2025 was EUR 438.2 million equivalent, comprising EUR 344.6 million in purchases and EUR 93.6 million in sales. The euro dominated activity with EUR 323.2 million in total turnover (74.7% share), followed by the US dollar at EUR 68.5 million (15.2%) and other currencies at EUR 32.8 million (8.1%). Romanian leu turnover was EUR 9.8 million (1.5%), Russian ruble EUR 3.1 million (0.4%), and Ukrainian hryvnia EUR 0.8 million (0.1%). Compared with the previous month, overall turnover fell 1.9% (purchases down 0.1% and sales down 7.9%), while versus the same month a year earlier total turnover rose 4.0% (purchases up 8.8% and sales down 10.5%). Euro equivalents are calculated using the monthly average official exchange rates of the Moldovan leu against the euro and the relevant foreign currency, and the National Bank of Moldova publishes these cash market statistics monthly by the last day of the following month.
