The Ghana Securities and Exchange Commission issued a public notice naming 23 entities that it said are operating on social media and online to promote and offer unlicensed investment products in Ghana. It said none of the entities has been licensed to carry out capital market activities under the Securities Industry Act and warned the public not to invest in their products. The notice covers entities including Afri Hub, BG Wealth, BP Investment, Creative Walker Promotion Company, Dallmayr, Ghana Vest, Harvest Fund, Infarms or Secure Farm, Mazzuma, Profit Rise Invest, Quant Vest Stock Exchange, QX Broker or Qumatix, Smart Gain, Yepbit Trading, ZEC ZEC FX, Bonchat and Ultima Cryptocurrency Group. The commission said it is collaborating with law enforcement agencies to clamp down on the people behind the entities and schemes, and advised investors to verify the licensing status of any firm offering capital market investment products or services.
