The Saudi Arabia Insurance Authority outlined growth projections and investment opportunities in the Saudi insurance market during its CEO’s participation in the World Economic Forum. The authority expects the market to more than double in size by 2030 to exceed SAR 140 billion, while insurance penetration in non-oil gross domestic product is projected to reach 3.6% and risk-based capital to rise to SAR 50 billion. The authority also held a Zurich roundtable with executives from more than 30 local and international companies to discuss market priorities, regulatory and operational developments, and investment opportunities. Separate meetings with the City of London and global insurance, reinsurance and investment firms covered cooperation, regulatory conditions and the adoption of international best practices.
