Peru's Superintendency of Banking, Insurance and AFP has launched a new public service, Reporte SOAT/CAT, which lets citizens view information on their compulsory traffic accident insurance (SOAT) policy or traffic accident certificate (CAT) and their related claims history. The report covers policies contracted with an insurance company (SOAT) or with a regional or provincial traffic accident fund association (Afocat) for CAT, and includes the individual’s record of losses tied to these covers. The authority frames the service as supporting safer driving behaviour and helping citizens when taking out or renewing a policy.
