The Central Bank of Nicaragua published the December 2025 Monthly Index of Economic Activity (IMAE), reporting 4.1% growth compared with December 2024 and a cumulative January–December and average annual increase of 4.8%. On a seasonally adjusted basis, the IMAE rose 0.8% from the prior month and 3.1% year on year, while the trend-cycle series increased 0.2% month on month and 5.0% year on year. The largest annual gains by activity were in trade (11.5%), livestock (10.2%), hotels and restaurants (7.7%), construction (6.2%), manufacturing (5.7%), transport and communications (5.7%), and financial intermediation and related services (5.2%); declines were recorded in mining and quarrying (-8.7%), public administration (-3.0%), forestry and logging (-2.2%), energy and water (-1.5%), and other services (-3.5%).
