The Mauritius Financial Services Commission launched the FSC Research Seminar Series under the FSC Academy, starting with an inaugural session on “AI Projects in Financial Supervisory Authorities” held on 18 November 2025. The seminar drew over 100 participants, including representatives from the Bank of Mauritius, the Ministry of Financial Services and Economic Planning, the Financial Services Institute and FSC staff. It was delivered by International Monetary Fund senior financial sector expert Gabriela Conde, who presented a co-authored paper on AI projects in supervisory authorities and outlined implementation factors across stages from project foundation and data preparation through modelling, evaluation and deployment, followed by a moderated Q&A. The FSC indicated the research seminar series will become a regular platform to exchange views on regulatory matters and to bring external speakers to share policy, regulatory developments and best practices with the Commission and stakeholders.
