The Brazilian Superintendence of Private Insurance (SUSEP), represented by Director Airton Almeida, participated on 9 April in the 2025 International Congress of the Latin American Association for the Development of Agricultural Insurance (ALASA) in Brasília, bringing together stakeholders from across Latin America’s agricultural insurance market. The event convened insurers, reinsurers, financial institutions, government bodies and other sector participants under the theme “Innovation, sustainability and cooperation for a resilient future”. Discussions focused on technological innovation in rural insurance, climate change impacts and resilience strategies, integration between insurance and agricultural credit, public policy and successful international experiences, regional and international cooperation, and the role of insurers, reinsurers and cooperatives in strengthening the sector. Participants highlighted in the programme included Brazil’s Minister of Agriculture and Livestock, the Ministry of Agriculture’s Secretary for Agricultural Policy, the Central Bank of Brazil’s head for regulation and supervision of rural credit operations and Proagro, and the President of Embrapa.
