The State Bank of Vietnam reported that Deputy Governor Nguyen Ngoc Canh hosted a courtesy meeting with Khairussaleh Ramli, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Malayan Banking Berhad (Maybank), focused on Vietnam’s macroeconomic outlook, banking-sector direction and financing needs linked to planned large-scale infrastructure projects. Maybank presented its regional profile and product range, including retail, corporate and investment banking, bond issuance, asset management and insurance, as well as Halal-standard products, and confirmed it intends to continue expanding investment in Vietnam to support capital provision for businesses operating there. The State Bank of Vietnam welcomed the commitment and encouraged Maybank to act as a bridge for Malaysian firms entering the Vietnamese market and to broaden cooperation with international investors and financial institutions; Maybank thanked the central bank for its support to Maybank Vietnam and reiterated its readiness to contribute to Vietnam’s economic and financial development.
