The State Bank of Vietnam held a meeting of the banking sector’s steering committee on anti-corruption and misconduct to review results from the first half of 2025 and set key tasks for the period ahead. The update points to earlier internal planning measures, including Directive No. 01 on implementing the banking sector’s core tasks and Decision No. 1799/QD-SBV of 15 April 2025 issuing the sector’s plan on anti-corruption, misconduct and crime prevention. Priority actions include completing the institutional framework for the organisation and operation of units following restructuring and streamlining, strengthening power controls and integrity safeguards in personnel and across banking-sector bodies, and accelerating administrative reform, digital transformation, transparency, asset and income controls and cashless payments, alongside continued implementation of the Government’s Project 06. The State Bank of Vietnam also signalled continued coordination with relevant authorities on prevention and enforcement, including handling cases with signs of serious legal violations in monetary and banking activities, as preparations proceed toward the 14th National Party Congress in early 2026.
