The Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina reported on Governor Jasmina Selimovic’s participation in the International Monetary Fund and World Bank Spring Meetings, including a meeting with IMF Executive Directors Jeroen Clicq and Marnix van Rij. The discussions covered continued technical assistance to support reform processes in Bosnia and Herzegovina, with a focus on preserving financial and monetary stability and the importance of the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s independence; the central bank’s role in maintaining macroeconomic stability and public confidence in the financial system was also highlighted in the context of European integration. Selimovic also pointed to cooperation with countries in the IMF Netherlands-Belgium Constituency, noting that the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina will take on a hosting role for a constituency meeting on financial education and inclusion organised in cooperation with the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development. Separately, the Bosnia and Herzegovina delegation visited the country’s embassy in the United States to discuss closer cooperation between domestic institutions and diplomatic and consular missions, including promotion of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s economic potential, its investment image and strategic reforms. Further bilateral meetings with senior IMF and World Bank officials were scheduled to continue on 23 April 2025.
