The Central Bank of Luxembourg reported that its consumer confidence indicator was stable in June 2026, holding at minus 14. The unchanged headline reading reflected offsetting moves across the underlying components rather than a broad improvement or deterioration in household sentiment. Households markedly raised their expectations for the general economic situation in Luxembourg and for their own future financial position. The balance for the economic outlook improved to minus 25 in June from minus 33 in May, while expectations for future household finances rose to minus 2 from minus 5. At the same time, perceptions of households' past financial situation weakened to minus 9 from minus 4, and intentions to make major purchases fell to minus 20 from minus 5. The central bank noted that the consumer confidence indicator is the arithmetic average of four seasonally adjusted components: expectations for the general economic situation, views on past household finances, expectations for future household finances and intentions for major purchases.
