The Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan outlined its participation in the Alliance for Financial Inclusion (AFI) Global Policy Forum 2025 in Swakopmund, Namibia, including engagement across AFI governance and technical workstreams and a chaired session of the Eastern Europe & Central Asia Policy Initiative (ECAPI) focused on inclusive green finance. During the forum, the delegation took part in the AFI Gender Inclusive Finance Committee and seven working groups covering financial inclusion policy and data, digital financial services, equal application of international standards, consumer empowerment and financial literacy, support for small and medium-sized enterprises, and inclusive green finance. The Central Bank presented its experience in supporting women’s entrepreneurship, expanding access to finance for SMEs, and implementing financial literacy initiatives. In a separate ECAPI meeting chaired by the Central Bank, participants promoted the ECAPI Declaration on Inclusive Green Finance, positioned as a tool to strengthen regional cooperation and introduce innovative green finance instruments; ECAPI members listed included central banks and regulators from Armenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mongolia, North Macedonia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and Kazakhstan’s financial market regulator as an associate member.
