The Central Bank of Paraguay has invited students to take part in the eighth annual central banking contest, “Committed to Education,” centered on the role of insurance in financial planning. The competition asks third-year upper secondary students to produce a short educational video explaining how insurance supports long-term financial planning, risk prevention and protection of personal and family well-being. It is open to students from public, subsidized private and private schools recognized by the Ministry of Education and Sciences, with entries submitted individually or in groups of up to three students and under the guidance of a teacher. Registration will run from July 21 to Aug. 9, 2026, and video submissions will be accepted from July 31 to Sept. 8. Entries will then go through technical preselection from Sept. 16 to Sept. 30, followed by jury evaluation from Oct. 1 to Oct. 21, with an extension possible in the event of a tie. Winners are due to be announced on Oct. 30. Cash prizes for students are set at PYG 8,200,000 for first place, PYG 5,500,000 for second and PYG 2,800,000 for third, while guiding teachers will receive PYG 2,800,000, PYG 2,100,000 and PYG 1,400,000 respectively.
