The Central Bank of Egypt reported that Governor Hassan Abdalla participated in the Annual Meeting of the Permanent Bureau of the Council of Arab Central Banks and Monetary Authorities’ Governors in Abu Dhabi, as part of preparations for the Council’s 49th Annual Meetings scheduled for September 2025. Abdalla reaffirmed the CBE’s commitment to participate in the Council’s committees and working groups and highlighted the aim of strengthening coordination among Arab central banks. The meeting reviewed outcomes from the Arab Committee on Banking Supervision, the Arab Committee on Payment and Settlement Systems, the Arab Committee on Credit Information, the Arab Financial Inclusion Task Force, the Financial Stability Task Force, the Arab Regional FinTech Working Group, and the Arab Green and Sustainable Finance Network. It also examined progress in preparing the Arab Financial Stability Report and the Joint Arab Economic Report for 2025, and discussed proposed topics for the 2025 Unified Arab Discourse to be presented during the World Bank Group and International Monetary Fund Annual Meetings in October. The Arab Financial Stability Report and Joint Arab Economic Report for 2025 are intended for approval at the Council’s September 2025 meeting.
