The National Bank of Denmark published its July 2026 foreign exchange, liquidity and monthly balance sheet update, reporting that foreign exchange reserves increased by DKK 0.3 billion to DKK 699.6 billion. The change reflected DKK 0.5 billion in net foreign exchange purchases and the central government’s DKK 0.2 billion net repayment of foreign debt. The central bank did not intervene in the foreign exchange market for settlement in July. The net position of banks and mortgage credit institutions with the central bank rose by DKK 54.8 billion to DKK 355.9 billion, mainly because the central government’s liquidity impact added DKK 53.1 billion. The central government’s net financing requirement was DKK 52.8 billion in July and DKK 12.1 billion from January through July. The central bank’s balance sheet totaled DKK 741.2 billion at July 31, up from DKK 737.3 billion at June 30.
